EDETARIA

EDETARIA, is a project that began in Terra Alta with Joan Àngel Lliberia, who decided to produce high quality estate bottled wines from his family owned vineyards. The cellar, built in 2003, is integrated into a stunning landscape surrounded by vineyards, and mountains. Edetària owns 24 hectares of vineyards. A high percentage of these are old vineyards of over 50 years old, and the rest are between 20 and 25 years old. Edetaria is the result of the combination of the traditional grape varieties of the region (garnacha blanca, garnacha peluda, garnacha negra, cariñena) and cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Because the vineyards are the most important part of our wine making, Edetaria only produces wine from its own vineyards.  Our aim is to lower yields and thereby produce excellent grapes which truly express their personality. At Edetaria, our aim is to produce unique wines which are not slaves to fashion and express the full potential of the terroir and the grapes from which they are made.
